We are seeking a Contamination Control Specialist to manage and enhance the CTS UK Contamination Control Strategy, ensuring adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) during site operations. This role involves advising and supporting contamination control programs for manufacturing and testing processes, especially for new product introductions. The specialist will participate in meetings and processes, where applicable, and oversee investigations and risk assessments related to site contamination control. Responsibilities include coordinating and conducting training in microbiology, contamination control, and aseptic techniques, providing in-situ support and troubleshooting, and monitoring microbiological data to detect trends. The role also involves leading process improvements in aseptic practices, contributing to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), advising on contamination risks during the Change Control process, and participating in specialist teams and meetings. Effective communication with global teams and various stakeholders, KPI/metric updates, and collaboration with Operations, Technical Services, Engineering, Facilities, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control groups are crucial. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Contamination Control Lead.

Who you are:

  • BSc (Hons) in a science or engineering related discipline (preferably Microbiology background)
  • Excellent working knowledge of clean room controls and design
  • Expert in Contamination Control: Extensive knowledge and experience in contamination control strategies, including the latest trends and regulatory requirements
  • Regulatory environment experience: Strong understanding and application of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) or a relevant other regulatory environment
  • Investigative Skills: Proficient in conducting investigations and risk assessments related to contamination control
  • Trainer and Educator: Skilled in coordinating and executing training programs for personnel in microbiology, contamination control, and aseptic techniques
  • Data Analysis: Ability to monitor and analyse microbiological data from classified areas and utilities to detect trends
