The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Key Account Manager for CBG (Consumer Business Group) Retail & Office Channel. you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

We are looking for a talented Key Account Manager to oversee, harness and amplify relationships with our most important clients within the office channel. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing long term key customers by understanding and meeting their requirements.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Drive senior customer relationship connections that enable Key Account partnership plans for growth and leverage full co-operation for efficient growth with key customers – senior relationship levels at Merchandising Director, Sales Director or equivalents.
  • Drive channel planning process and planned growth activities in Stationery, Office Wholesale and Independent, Office Contract and Education channels.
  • Ensure alignment and execution of the portfolio plan and leverage agreed shopper marketing programs for the greatest returns.
  • Deliver New Product Sales to plan based on new product introduction calendars.
  • Work with broader business teams to develop and optimise the sales coverage model based on Cost to Serve analysis – to include direct responsibility for partnerships and distribution management.
  • Identifying needs, articulate strong value propositions and meet customer requirements to promote 3M solutions to achieve mutual satisfaction.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following skills & qualifications:

  • Significant national account management experience preferably within the wholesale/distribution model
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Customer focused, ability to handle senior customer discussions and relationships
  • Experience in building strong relationships with strategic customers.
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in business management or CIM from an accredited institution
  • Sales leadership or senior account management experience
  • Business development mindset.
  • Ability to develop and articulate local sales organisation needs, strong influencing skills.
  • Exceptional communicator (local, regional, central functions) and ability to work across functions to a shared goal.
  • Ability to lead and coach through change
