CNO Financial Group’s IT unit is hiring a Sr. IT Security Analyst to oversee and manage the vulnerability identification process, reporting, validation, and remediation across the enterprise. This includes perimeter Attack Surface review, tuning and management of zero-day vulnerability assessments, tracking and progress reporting for risk exposure and mitigation strategies. The management of this process will include liaison with business technology owners to communicate and to identify timelines for remediation according to departmental policy. Additionally, the Sr IT Security Analyst will assist with penetration testing and red team exercises.

As a Sr. IT Security Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee scans of IT infrastructure to detect and evaluate cyber security vulnerabilities. Evaluate potential false positives and tune scanner as needed.
  • Supports security standards, security architecture, project related work, and other Cybersecurity functions.
  • Track all vulnerability remediation efforts and hold various teams across the organization accountable for timelines. Escalation of issues and problems when needed.
  • Demonstrate and educate stakeholders on the real-world impact of threats and vulnerability exploitation on our environment
  • Continuously monitor various sources of information (i.e., threat intelligence feeds) for vulnerabilities and assess their impact.
  • Develop, document, and report business-level metrics for vulnerabilities and remediation progress (KRI and KPI)
  • Drive the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle, from discovery to closure
  • Assess criticality of findings, create remediation plans with applicable teams and produce comprehensive reports for various levels of stakeholders (i.e., executive and technical).

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant work experience as an equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of real-world information security work experience, preferably in a vulnerability management role.
  • At least one security related certification (such as Security+, GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, CEH, CISSP, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of vulnerability scanning, experience with Qualys or a similar vulnerability scanning platform.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response, a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly pivot between various daily operational tasks.
  • Knowledge of various security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions.
