The Data Architect is a critical driver of this transformation, enabling cloud-based data architectures, data management capabilities, and integration strategies that ensure seamless connections between hybrid cloud and on-premises based applications.

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Data Architect to collaborate with other architects in the design and implementation of robust, efficient, highly scalable, and cost-effective data solutions. This key role will partner closely with other architects and DevSecOps engineers to design effective approaches for structuring and storing data, overseeing data governance, and developing and evangelizing data standards and practices while collaboratively supporting the operations of our Agile development teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and optimize our data architecture to support AI, Business Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics initiatives
  • Evaluate and accelerate the adoption of new data and integration technologies that enable the capabilities of modern Data Warehouse, Lake House, and AI solutions
  • Develop and implement governance policies around data infrastructure and data security initiatives
  • Evangelize and mentor the technology community on new data patterns, practices, and standards planned for adoption at Bloomin’ Brands
  • Provide thought leadership to architectural reviews and oversee implementation of standards and best practices employed by engineers
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts to document and catalog our existing data and integrations landscape across the enterprise
  • Construct and edit architectural diagrams that accurately reflect present and future solution design
  • Participate in architectural design meetings in support of key IT and Digital initiatives
  • Contribute ideas that leverage past development and solutions architecture experience
  • Evaluate and select appropriate solutions based on compute, data, budget, and security requirements
  • Estimate usage costs, identify operational cost control mechanisms, and drive cost-efficiencies

Desired Experience/Education:

  • 6 + years of demonstrable, recent Data Architecture experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern data platforms and concepts
  • Thorough understanding of Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architecture
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse and Lakehouse models, including schemas, facts, and different types of dimensions
  • Understanding of platform scaling to support increases in compute consumption
  • Recent experience in a collaborative Agile working environment (Scrum preferred)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD)
  • Experience in provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running in the cloud
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects and consistently meet project deadlines
