Your role in the team

The Digital Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of one or more products in Allstate, growing product portfolio. The Digital Product Manager manages strategic product vision, product discovery, roadmaps, and backlog to maximize the customer and enterprise value provided by their product. Successful Product Managers help to identify assumptions and validate those assumptions using product discovery techniques. The Product Manager is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders and partners, ensuring the successful definition and execution of go-to market and communications strategies for their products.

The Data Warehouse Digital Product Team is comprised of 3 agile teams that take work off a single backlog to meet the needs of our enterprise users. You will be managing the team whose primary responsibility is blending or merging various domains of data to derive business metrics and reports. You will be accountable to aid in solutioning financial data insights to support 360 Finance, Actuaries and Underwriting. The team is responsible for deriving complex calculations to support metrics and trends that connect this data to policy, quote and claims details.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Own digital product portfolio strategy, ensure alignment of roadmaps, and negotiate sequencing of work based on enterprise priorities across digital product portfolio
  • Act as player/coach to advance product management proficiency across multiple product teams, identifying and addressing gaps proactively
  • Drive execution of multiple product teams while navigating interdependencies, expert in resolving barriers to product success and technical implementation
  • Own over-arching digital product portfolio outcomes and ensure that individual digital product KPIs converge towards the ultimate intent
  • Evaluate opportunities across digital products and intervenes as appropriate to accelerate intended business outcomes (changes in support, resource allocations, prioritization discussions, etc.
  • Partner with stakeholders to determine how to reuse features and capabilities and drive speeds to market
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of how portfolio of digital products work at a technology and architecture level as well as how they enable consumer journeys
  • Be an enforcer and coach of product and feature demo culture, ensuring vision, progress and expectations are effectively coordinated and communicated across stakeholders at all levels (able to provide humble feedback)

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

  • All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy.
  • At minimum 4 years’ experience in a Product Manager/Product Owner role
  • At minimum 2 years’ experience in a leading /coaching /management role
  • Experience of Data Profiling and its connection to business requirements
  • Experience implementing highly iterative software development practices for e.g.: agile delivery, agile Scrum or agile XP

We also have some desirable criteria

  • Prior technical background or experience as a developer/engineer/DBA
  • Familiar with ETL and ELT integration methodology and development tools
  • Understand the Enterprise Change/Release processes to migrate work to production
  • Familiar with Data Modeling
  • Familiarity with Agility tool
