Morgan Stanley is recruiting for a strong project manager, who will play a key role in the successful implementation of a high-profile long-term structural project.  The position sits within a small core team in the office of the EMEA Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), reporting to the programme lead for EMEA Legal Entity Strategy.  The role will assist in coordinating a large cross-divisional team, interacting across seniority levels and EMEA jurisdictions.

You will be the central project manager in the CAO office, supporting strategic, cross organisational projects.  Your key project will be to work with teams across the business to plan and implement a significant legal entity strategy change programme.  This will include:

  • Managing significant complexity and ambiguity as we scope programme phases and approach
  • Providing project management support at both the divisional / workstream level and at the overall programme level
  • Partnering with divisions / workstreams to support identification of milestones, prioritisation, timing and inter-dependencies
  • Using this information to build project plans
  • Partnering with divisions / workstreams in tracking progress against plans and in providing reporting; consolidate programme level reporting
  • Producing progress update materials for internal local and global stakeholders and regulators, as required
  • Preparing documentation for, and assisting with driving meetings, including, but not limited to, working groups, steering committees, executive committees and boards
  • Identifying risks and issues, escalating where relevant
  • Maintaining the programme repository including key project artefacts, including regular status update reports, risks and issue management, and supporting documentation
  • The role will require the individual to provide strong project management oversight across multiple workstreams as well as “hands-on” business analysis support to deliver solutions and drive workstreams forward.

You will collaborate with colleagues from across the Firm, including Sales and Trading, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology and Human Resources.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in administering complex programmes in the financial services industry at a cross-divisional level, for example regulatory change programmes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions from large amounts of information
  • The ability to work in a consultative and analytic capacity, to resolve programme execution issues in a collaborative manner
  • Knowledge and understanding of the structure and organisation of a large, multi-national banking organisation and demonstrated ability to work with senior management
  • Proven ability to navigate in complex and ambiguous situations and work in high pressure, time-sensitive situations while maintaining a tenacious commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently and prioritise required daily activities and deliverables

Skills that will help you in the role:

·        Project consultancy experience at a Big Four consultancy is desirable

·        Degree educated or equivalent, Project Management qualification highly desirable

·        Excellent MS PowerPoint, MS Excel skills, MS Project and SharePoint skills

·        Experience in working across multi-disciplinary, multi-location teams in a hybrid working environment
