We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced LMIA Specialist to join our immigration consultancy team in Canada. This individual will be responsible for handling all aspects of the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process from start to finish. The LMIA Specialist will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with all relevant LMIA regulations, prepare and submit applications, and provide guidance on the LMIA process to both employers and foreign workers.

  • Oversee the full LMIA application process for employers seeking to hire foreign workers.
  • Collect, review, and organize all necessary documentation required for LMIA applications, including job descriptions, recruitment efforts, and other supporting documents.
  • Ensure that all LMIA applications meet the required standards as per Canadian immigration law.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and updates in Canadian immigration laws and LMIA governing regulations.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to clients regarding LMIA eligibility, regulations, and procedural changes.
  • Ensure all LMIA applications are in full compliance with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) guidelines and other relevant authorities.
  • Advise clients on the best strategies for obtaining a positive LMIA decision based on their specific needs.
  • Provide ongoing communication to clients regarding the status of their applications and any required follow-ups.
  • Conduct consultations with employers to help them understand their responsibilities under the LMIA process and Canadian immigration law.
  • Prepare and submit LMIA applications accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all forms, documents, and evidence meet the requirements set by the ESDC and other immigration authorities.
  • Follow up on submissions, respond to any requests for additional information, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate with foreign workers and employers to ensure the LMIA process aligns with subsequent work permit applications.
  • Maintain thorough records of all LMIA applications, correspondence, and client interactions for future reference and audits.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of LMIA applications and provide updates to clients and management.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in immigration law, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the LMIA process or in immigration consulting, with a strong understanding of the LMIA process and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Canadian immigration laws, LMIA regulations, and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex processes with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and immigration software systems.
