We are looking for an HR and Recruiting Assistant with exceptional English communication skills and a proven track record in human resources and recruitment. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on recruiting, and will thrive in a remote work environment. This role will start as a part-time position (4 hours/day) and has the potential to grow into a more comprehensive role with increased responsibility after the initial month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment:
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial candidate screenings.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Source and attract top talent through various channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
  • HR Administration:
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, including preparing offer letters, conducting orientation, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support HR initiatives such as performance management, employee engagement, and policy implementation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other related matters.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date HR documentation and processes.
  • Remote Collaboration:
  • Work effectively in a fully remote environment, utilizing tools like Slack, Zoom, and HR software to communicate and collaborate with team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with a strong focus on recruitment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in a remote environment and familiarity with remote collaboration tools.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • A positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with candidates and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction or technology industry.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
